The faculty and Board of Governors of Wesley Theological Seminary are excited to announce a collaboration with Morning Star Baptist Church (MSBC Ministries) to make  theological education more accessible to people in and beyond Baltimore.

As disciples of Jesus Christ, we are all called to go beyond the walls of the church to serve God's People. Likewise, Wesley is moving outside the walls of our seminary to bring our diverse community and theological resources to those seeking to enter ministry or expand their current pastoral and ministerial skills. Let us learn together to follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit and be open to the new ways God may be leading all of us.

Since 1882, Wesley Theological Seminary has been forming Christian leaders for the church and the world, from its original location in Westminster, MD, moving to Northwest D.C. in 1959. Wesley offers  a wide range of ministry-building courses that can be taken as a non-degree or degree student,  auditor or minister seeking CEUs. Certificates in Health Ministry and Children and Youth Ministry and Advocacy have been developed to meet the needs of congregational members serving their local church.

Ecumenical and broadly diverse, Wesley offers the following degree programs: Master of Arts, Master of Divinity, Master of Theological Studies and Doctor of Ministry.. Our faculty is internationally-renowned, prioritizing research and authoring publications that advance theological scholarship and ministries of justice.

Morning Star Baptist Church, Woodlawn, MD

Morning Star Baptist Church was founded in 1896 in Catonsville, MD. In 1996, Dr. Dwayne Debnam assumed its pulpit.

"By faith, Dr. Debnam has inspired the congregation to move from membership to discipleship. After much struggle and prayer, MSBC's blessings continue to multiply spiritually and financially. Ministries have been created and revitalized. Membership is currently more than 3000 persons. Hundreds of these persons are new believers. A third Sunday service has been added to accommodate the growing need for restoration and salvation. With the Lord leading us, MSBC is positioned as a beacon in the community. Dr. Debnam has established the Renaissance Counseling Center and a Center for Excellence which encompasses a GED, computer, career and employment training programs."
