Congregations and Non-profits

Wesley welcomes and greatly appreciates the support of congregations and non-profits in guiding our future ministers.

Our partnerships help prepare seminarians to answer the call of God for service. Our God expects much from us in living and proclaiming the Gospel in diverse contexts and methods. So too, Wesley asks a lot from the Learning Partners who guide interns along their journey of ministerial and spiritual formation.

The process for ministry settings to become partners with Wesley seminarians in preparation for the ministry field ahead of them may be found under the following accordion (+) tabs:

First Steps for Teaching Settings Expand

Sites considered to be teaching settings consist of churches or congregations and nonprofits such as hospitals, schools, retirement communities, hospices, and campus ministries.

All teaching settings should provide two people to work with placed seminarian intern(s): congregations provide a clergy and a lay learning partner and nonprofits provide a mentoring and a site learning partner. The site contact person may or may not be one of the learning partners.

For more details on learning partner credentials, the components that make contextual education valuable, and the commitment by sites and seminarian interns are shared in these documents:

  • Ministry Setting FAQ's, Requirements, & Attributes
  • Values of Contextual Education
  • Time Expectations

To add your site to the PMM Ministry Setting List, please proceed to the next accordion (+) tab.
