Spring 2024 - Online Health Minister Certificate

Dates:  Online orientation: January 7, 2024 – January 13, 2024
             Weekly modules January 14, 2024 - March 24, 2024

Learning Format:

  • 10 weekly online modules.
  • Each module is 1.5 hours-2.5 hours (22 contact hours)
  • All 10 weekly online modules must be completed for certificate completion.
  • Certificate content includes readings, videos, discussion boards, assignments, webinars and other interactive learning methods.
  • Online certificate hours are not transferable to any Wesley Theological Seminary graduate degree.

Tuition Cost:

  • $575 per person
  • $25 non-refundable registration fee (must be submitted with registration form)

(scholarships are available, including one for United Methodists made possible from a grant from the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church)

Health Minister Certificate Registration Form - Spring 2024

The Health Minister Certificate is an introductory education course in whole person health presented by the Heal the Sick, a program of the Institute for Community Engagement at Wesley Downtown. All 10 modules must be completed for certificate completion. Certificate hours are not transferable to any Wesley Theological Seminary graduate degree.   • * The General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church has provided a limited amount of scholarships for United Methodists wanting to build and sustain health ministries in their faith communities. * The DC Faith Community - Georgetown Lombardi Partnership has a limited number of scholarships designated for pre-approved partnering faith community leaders and members who will build and sustain health ministries for faith communities in DC and MD.

With GBGM's scholarship support for the certificate, GBGM is working to promote a culture of health in congregations and communities. GBGM would like to raise awareness about health ministry and share stories about health ministry in various media outlets.   • Cancellations must be received in writing to tpruski@wesleyseminary.edu by January 5th, 2024 to receive a full tuition refund. Students cancelling after January 5th, 2024 through the first day of class (January 7th, 2024) will also be charged a $125.00 cancellation fee. Refunds will not be honored once the first class takes place. Note: Certificate credits are not transferable to any Wesley Theological Seminary graduate degree programs.
