Blackboard Ultra

Blackboard Ultra Phased Plan

Blackboard will be updated in three phases.  The first will be done on December 27, 2021.  This phase will be to turn on or activate what Blackboard calls Ultra Base Navigation.  This will change the way Blackboard looks when you log on, but all courses will look and function the same as they do now. Phase two is scheduled to begin in May 2022.  In this phase teachers will have the option to have their courses be in Original view or Ultra view.  Phase three will be in May 2023, and will move all courses to the Ultra view.

Ultra Introduction

Blackboard Learn Ultra delivers a modern, intuitive, fully responsive interface.  Learn Ultra better engages students, eases the burden on educators, and clears the path to success using some of the following:

  • Easier to use tools and workflows help instructors and students stay organized, and better engage with content and each other.
  • Ultra has a responsive design, making it more mobile friendly
  • Accessibility is better built into Ultra, making it easier to use with more assistive technology

Introductory Video

This Video will provide an Introductory tour of the changes that will be most obvious in Blackboard Ultra.  Courses will not be changing for 2022 Spring.

The primary change will be to the entry page when you log in.  This will look different but will have a layout that is designed to make navigating the system smoother.
