The Wesley Ministry Network

The Wesley Ministry Network strengthens the ministries of churches around the world by creating adult educational materials that make accessible the best of contemporary Christian scholarship.

Our DVD-based courses encourage the energetic discussion and personal reflection that are keys to a life of informed discipleship.  Courses are designed for use in small groups, but they are also appropriate for individuals seeking self-study opportunities.

Wesley Ministry Network materials are used in churches in a wide range of denominations across the United States and in several other countries.  Course materials are available online through the Lewis Center for Church Leadership. Teacher-led courses are also offered online, in partnership with the Institute for Discipleship and Be A Disciple.

Wesley Ministry Network aims to strengthen the whole church in the whole world.  Please contact us if you have ideas about how we can better meet the need for adult Christian education in the 21st century.

Serious Answers to Hard Questions Theologians address ten issues that are obstacles to faith for many people both in and outside of the church.

Religion and Science: Pathways to Truth Over a dozen scientists and theologians consider if and how religion and science might coexist.

A Life Worthy of the Gospel Dr. Sondra Wheeler explores how Christians can act faithfully in a complex world.

Women Speak of God Dr. Amy Oden examines how Christian women in different cultures, time periods, and social locations have written about their faith.

In God’s Time: The Bible and the Future Dr. Craig Hill offers an alternative to sensationalist perspectives on the Bible’s teaching about the future and God’s ultimate victory.

Wesleyan Studies Project Expand

The Wesleyan Studies Project Learn about Methodist thought and practice throughout the world in courses on Methodist History, Methodist Doctrine, and Methodist Evangelism.  These three sets are commonly used in seminaries classrooms.

Seminary students registered for on-line courses in either United Methodist History or United Methodist Doctrine through Wesley Theological Seminary or the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry may purchase the DVD sets online through the Lewis Center for Church Leadership.   If you have further questions about the Wesleyan Studies Project, please contact us.

Laity versions are also available for Sunday school classes or special seminars:

Methodist Identity Part One: Our Story Speakers describe the 18th-century Wesleyan revival in England and the growth of Methodism in the United States and around the world.

Methodist Identity Part Two: Our Beliefs This course builds on Part 1: Our Story by examining Methodist beliefs, focusing especially on those doctrines that make Methodists distinctive.
