How is it that even with theological training, a firm faith foundation, and good intentions to create a living, working, and worshiping environment of true harmony we still end up with different outcomes than we intended? Implicit bias is what sometimes stands in the way.

By looking at What We Don’t Think We Think we can get to one root of the problem between our intended goals and the actual outcomes. In Tuesday’s workshop led by Rev. E. Michelle Ledder, Director Equity and Anti-Racism, at the General Commission on Religion and Race, UMC, participants will engage in interactive learning engagements on recognizing, questioning, and transforming implicit bias.

Best of all, food will be provided.  Also, to get the most out of this workshop, please note food will be available at 4:30pm and the workshop will begin promptly at 4:45pm in Elderdice.  We will also end at 6:15pm to allow enough time to make it to your 6:30pm class.  So, to ensure your spot, RSVP asap by emailing studentcouncil@wesleyseminary.edu with Implicit Bias Workshop in the subject line along with your name and confirmation in the body of the email.

See you at the “WHAT WE DON’T THINK WE THINK” Workshop Tuesday, October 2, 4:45-6:15pm!
