Love Into Action
After hearing several sermons on this passage from different preachers, I always feel challenged as this story impacts my way of living with others within community …such as the Wesley Community where I always feel the true meaning of putting love into action. Love into action is based on our actions toward others.
As an ordained deacon within the United Methodist Church, I understand that we can preach, sing, and lead conferences or church activities but when love does not prevail, all those actions are a waste of time. Our actions matter. We cannot sit and watch others suffer while God keeps blessing us. Jesus Christ could not sit and keep watching his people perish, instead he offered himself in love in order to save the world.
The most important thing that we can offer others within our communities is to bring a smile to their beautiful faces despite the challenges they may face in the world. If you want to impact your community by being a Good Samaritan for your neighbors, put love into action by both sharing and assisting others in order to impact their lives for the glory of God.
Reflection Question: How do we love our neighbors within the community despite our differences?
