The Office of Housing welcomes Doctor of Ministry candidates to campus for the May D.Min intensive term (May 11-22, 2015)! We offer on-campus housing for those students traveling to campus from afar, or wishing to minimize commuting time to focus on coursework and utilize campus resources.
We will begin accepting applications in March 2, 2015 and the application window will close April 5, 2015 at 11:59pm EST. Email confirmation of your housing assignment will be sent mid April 2015. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accept late applications, except in the event of cancellation. Students are encouraged to apply early because January term spots are extremely limited.
Students interested in applying for housing during the May intensive D.Min. terms should complete the application available online beginning in Monday, April 2, 2015. For all students staying during the May term, check-in will be Monday, May 11, 2015 from 6-9pm. For those students staying only during week two, check in will be Sunday, May 17, 2015 from 3-9pm. The check-out deadline is Saturday, May 23, 2015, 10am.
We will utilize all available space on campus to accommodate our Doctor of Ministry students once the New Residence Hall (NRH) is at capacity. Students will be able to indicate a hall preference on their application in the event that placements are made outside the NRH (some students may prefer Straughn Dormitory for financial reasons). If you are unfamiliar with Wesley housing, please take a moment to read about our residence halls and take a look at our floor plans.
During this term, we assign only one- or two-week accommodations. We are unable to prorate if you check-in either late or early. Please note that there is a $50 cancellation fee for cancellations after the cancellation period (we will accept cancellations until April 30, 2015 at 4:30pm, EST without charging a fee).
Due to our limited housing, we are unlikely to be able to assign single rooms or apartments during the D.Min. term in May, except possibly in case of medical requirement. If you have a medical reason why you would need a single room, you will be required to provide a letter from your physician.
Should applications exceed our on-campus vacancies, we may elect to make arrangements at a local hotel for Doctor of Ministry students. Cost would be determined when arrangements are made but would be more expensive than on-campus accommodations.
All rates are weekly and include a Monday (week 1) or Sunday (week 2) evening check-in and a Saturday morning check-out. Students staying both weeks are not required to vacate or move between week 1 and week 2. Rates do not include linen or meal plan.
New Residence Hall Double Occupancy - $420
Straughn Residence Hall Double Occupancy - $370
Linen Charge - $12
Linen includes bedsheets, pillow, pillow case, blanket, bath towel, hand towel and wash cloth. You may elect to bring your own linen instead of having the seminary provide linen for you (however, please note the NRH is furnished with extra-long twin beds. Straughn is furnished with standard twin beds).
More information about your campus visit can be found in the Campus Guidebook - DMin Edition.
