Blackboard 9.1 is the Learning Management System (LMS) used by Wesley Theological Seminary. Blackboard provides a comprehensive ste of tools for developing and delivering courses.
All courses utilize the Blackboard Learning Management System. Students will use the Student ID (ex: jwesley3805) and numerical password supplied upon acceptance to Wesley.
Log into MyWesley and click Blackboard below and to the right of the login box.
The system is also accessible directly at http://blackboard.american.edu If accessing Blackboard here, enter the letters wts in front of username (ex: wtsjwesley3805) and use the same numerical password.
To use Blackboard students must have a fully functioning computer running a modern Operating System
Microsoft Windows 7 or Higher
Courses may also require hardware such as a headset with microphone for web conferencing. This will be specified on the syllabus.
Blackboard 9.1 supported browsers include: Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari. Blackboard has had repeated problems with Internet Explorer and the Educational Technology Office advises against using it to access Blackboard.
Blackboard courses perform best when using a high speed Internet connection. Many locations offer free high speed Internet access, including the Wesley computer lab and DC public libraries.
