Cedric C. Johnson
Assistant Professor of Pastoral Theology and Congregational Care

A native of New York City, Cedric Johnson is an ordained elder in the Church of God in Christ (COGIC). Dr. Johnson joins the Wesley staff after working for over fifteen years in the field of community mental health, as a family therapist, clinical supervisor and clinical director, serving multicultural populations in urban settings. Within the broad discipline of pastoral theology and congregational care, Dr. Johnson’s interests include pastoral care and globalization, postcolonial criticism, spirituality and mental health, and cultural trauma. He is currently working on a manuscript based on his doctoral research that puts forth a multi-systems approach to congregational care in the context of globalization. Cedric enjoys tennis, basketball, the performing arts and walks with his wife at the seashore.
