There are pastors who possess a gift beyond their gifts for day-to-day ministry, an ability to weave beautiful fabrics for instance, or an appreciation for Ansel Adams landscapes. There are church leaders who know the right song is often the difference between vision lost and vision kept; so Moses composes (Deut 31) and David plays the harp (1 Sam 16). And there are ministers who have no particular ability to play or dance, paint or sculpt, but have a deep-seated desire to capture the therapeutic benefits and renewing energy of the arts for the people of God on their way to the beautiful city of God (Rev 21).
For these ministers, Wesley offers the Arts and Theology Doctor of Ministry track. This track provides such persons with the company of like-minded souls, the confidence of biblical and theological apologetics, and exposure to a broader menu of media and media application. Graduates from this track have created well-documented projects that transform landscapes, enlarge sympathies toward a cause, and bring excellence into the execution of worship. They have found new fulfillment in sharing their gifts publicly or in leading the people of God to discover and release their artistic gifts.
The next cohort for The Arts and Theology track will begin in January 2018. Click here to Apply Now.
