We are happy to announce the Rev. Dr. Stacey Cole Wilson will serve as the preacher for our 2016 commencement ceremony, which will be Monday, May 9 at 2 p.m.
Cole Wilson is a pastor, teacher, mother, wife, youth-advocate, and award-winning author.
Currently, she serves as the lead pastor of Good Hope Union United Methodist Church in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Bishop Marcus Matthews has appointed Cole Wilson as director of congregational excellence for the Baltimore-Washington Annual Conference. She will begin serving in this new role in July.
Cole Wilson is a lectionary writer for the General Board of Global Ministries. She wrote prayers and litanies published in the award-winning Africana Worship Book.
Additionally, she currently serves on the Board of Governors for Wesley Theological Seminary and the executive committee of the Board of Ordained Ministry of the Baltimore-Washington Conference.
She has also served as a board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Metropolitan Baltimore (2007-2014), chaplain of the Female Clergy Support Group of Maryland, and as a member of the Network of Biblical Storytellers.
Cole Wilson earned her undergraduate degree in chemistry from Morgan State University. She has worked professionally as a senior analytical chemist specializing in petroleum and materials characterization.
She earned a Master of Divinity degree from Wesley Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree from the United Theological Seminary with an emphasis on collaborative community-church partnerships.
She is a licensed professional executive coach with the International Coaching Federation, a distinguished Lewis Fellow, Transition in Ministry Excellence Fellow, Lewis Community Leadership Fellow, and a Princeton Theological Seminary Roundtable Fellow.
