Dear Wednesdays with Wesley community,
I bring you glad tidings from the Office of Admissions this week as most of us around the Wesley community take a respite week! We hope that you have the opportunity to take a pause and reflect and feel God’s love as we enter this holiday weekend for the Fourth of July.
Most of the offices on campus are closed this week; however, if you have immediate questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to the Office of Admissions at admissions@wesleyseminary.edu and someone in the office will get back to you. We’ll be back in the office with regular hours Tuesday, July 7th and our next webinar will be on the new “Wesley in Baltimore” program with two faculty members, Dr. Hunt and Dr. Clarke speaking about their course “Theologies of Liberation.”
And remember, we are still accepting applications for fall 2020 until August 1st and financial aid is still available! Check out our updated fall 2020 course catalog which has extensive online options!
Peace be with you and many blessings on your week,
Elizabeth

UPDATE JUNE 18, 2020: The Wesley Administration decided that all 2020 summer courses will remain online. Fall 2020 courses will be offered in numerous ways to ensure social distancing: (a) classes with registration larger than 20 will be taught online (b) classes with registration under 20 can be taught online with occasional face-to-face classroom meetings with social distancing (the final decision is with the instructor). For all students uncomfortable with coming on campus, all online studies will be available until further notice.
ONLINE DEVOTIONS FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS
Collegiate Devotions: Finding Peace and Community Even When We are Apart
The Global Board of Higher Education in Ministry (GBHEM) offers devotions that follows the five prompts found in their collegiate resource, “The Awakened Life: An 8-Week Guide to Student Well-Being.” Join GBHEM for each one: Awake, Aware, Alive, Abide and Arise. These devotions will lead you into various exercises, journaling opportunities and virtual conversations with friends, along with audio and video clips.
Candidate and Aspiring Clergy Devotion
It may feel difficult to discern and respond faithfully to God’s call during this global crisis. GBHEM has adapted its Young Clergy Initiative discernment journal, “Listen. Discern. Respond. A Guide to Answering God’s Invitation,” into weekly devotions to help you quiet your heart and listen for God’s voice right now.
