The Small Church project of Wesley's Making Connections Initiative seeks to bring together lay and clergy leaders of small churches by United Methodist districts to experience the grace of conferencing. A typical event lasts six hours and consists of a worship led by the district superintendent, a teaching time where a tool for small church transformation is shared and homework is assigned. There is also time for the lay and clergy leaders of small churches to connect with one another.
To date there are fifteen district-wide pilot projects in ten annual conferences with the potential involvement of lay and clergy leaders from 1117 congregations. Below is a schedule of upcoming conferencing events.
