A major challenge confronting those in leadership, lay and ordained, will be learning how to "sing to the Lord a new song." As the church finds itself in the midst of the "worship wars," one focus of the initiative will be to establish the seminary as "neutral ground." We hope to bring together members of the various "camps": traditional, contemporary, emerging, liturgical, and multicultural - in an effort to learn from one another, explore new developments, weave new networks, and perhaps promote a truce out of which the worship of the church will be able to sing new songs.

Host a Worship event in your conference
We would like to invite you to think about hosting a Worship Event in your District or Conference. Wesley would work with you in the development of the theme and speaker. Financial support would be provided by the Initiative. Please contact Dr. Lucy Hogan or Sara Sheppard to explore the possibility.
Worship Round tables
One way of promoting a greater understanding of worship in the 21st century is gathering around a topic and sharing ideas. During these times we also share a meal which is provided.
To date the worship task force has hosted round tables on Spirituality of Worship with Eugene Sutton; Hospitality in Worship with Amy Oden; Children at Worship with Bill Doggett, Caroline Fairless and Jim Sims.
