NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS / INFORMATION FOR THIS WEEK
A REQUEST OF WTS EMPLOYEES: Monday is Commencement Day! We will have D.Min. students on campus in the morning picking up their regalia and attending D.Min. graduation rehearsal. We will also have some Master's students on campus picking up their regalia. So, if possible, let's save the parking spots for our graduates on Monday morning. There is parking available at the Katzen Arts Center parking garage directly across from the A.U. main entrance. Many thanks!
YOUNG ADULT ECUMENICAL FORUM AT WESLEY JUNE 12 -15: The 2008 Young Adult Ecumenical Forum will be on the topic of Slavery and Human Trafficking in the 21st Century and will take place at Wesley. The purpose of this forum is to educate and to call to action an ecumenical network of young adults on the issues of human trafficking and slavery, both internationally and at home. We are united in the Christian call to "bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners." (Isaiah 61:1, NRSV). HAITI IMMERSION, SUMMER 2009: This immersion trip will give participants the opportunity to learn more about Haiti's political, cultural, socio-economic and faith dimensions. Highlights of the trip will include visits to an orphanage for disabled children, a former slave plantation, a voodoo priest, Methodist churches in Haiti, and artist villages. The immersion is designed for participants to experience authentic Haitian culture, as well as to engage with the indigenous people about the country's history and systematic victimization at the hands of the global community. WE'RE HIRING! We're looking for some summer help! We are looking for assistance in the library during the month of May as we shift stacks, with the buildings and grounds as we plan summer repairs and improvements, and in various offices providing administrative support. Pay is $8/hour. If you are currently a work-study or work-ship student, please be sure to speak with your supervisor about your summer plans. The Lewis Center for Church Leadership is hiring a part-time Program and Research Assistant and a Communications Assistant. Both positions are 20 hours a week. SUMMER SCHOOL REGISTRATION: The summer term is almost here - are you planning to take classes? If so, registration is now open. Returning students should go to My Wesley to view the schedule and to register. Courses include, UM Polity, History and Doctrine, Biblical Languages, Prison Ministry, and courses on spiritual formation and the arts. Leading Congregations into a Deeper Spiritual Life with Rev. Gina Campbell is also being offered. Learn ways to instill a deeper sense of the divine in your congregations and help them to teach others;
The Arts, Spirituality and the Holocaust-- Carolyn Manosevitz returns this summer to discuss the meaning of Shoah. This course includes a field trip to the Holocaust museum and a Friday night sader dinner with the professor.

SUMMER/FALL 2008 HOUSING: If you have not signed up for housing you need to do so ASAP! To submit your Fall Housing application, go to the Housing website at www.wesleyseminary.edu/housing. To apply for Summer Housing, - go to www.wesleyseminary.edu/mywesley, then click on the Masters section. There you will see a link for the Summer Housing application. Please turn the applications in as soon as possible!
