Courses in Dance at Wesley expose ministers in training to the many and varied possibilities for helping congregations become more embodied. At the dawn of the 21st century, we are hungry for worship that directs our whole self toward God, not just our mind, ears, or eyes. We are hungry for a sense of self that includes the body and worship that affirms this. Therefore, the purpose of dance at Wesley is to point us toward God in the many and varied ways we express our relationship with God – to help the community pray, praise, give thanks, and proclaim through movement – and to provide diverse opportunities for the community to be involved!
