From Virginia: If you travel through Rosslyn, Arlington, etc. ...
Cross the Key Bridge north into Washington, D.C. and turn left onto M Street. When M Street bears to the right, it becomes Foxhall Road.Continue on Foxhall Road for approximately 4 miles through a wooded residential area. Foxhall will come to a dead-end at Nebraska Avenue. Turn right at the light onto Nebraska.
Follow Nebraska through one light keeping in the right-hand lane. The second light is located at Ward Circle. Travel counter clockwise around 3/4 of the circle until you reach Massachusetts Avenue, which travels by American University.
At Massachusetts Avenue, turn right out of the circle, continue through the light at the entrance to American University, and take the next left onto the driveway of the Wesley campus parking lot. You will then pass the Trott Administration Building on your right. You have arrived! See Campus Map.
From Virginia: If you travel 95 North from south of Washington, D.C. ...
Travel 95 North to the Capitol Beltway (495 North) and be sure the sign says north.Take the exit to the right that says 95 and 495 North to Tysons Corner. Do not go toward Baltimore.
Stay on the beltway through Virginia. After you cross over the Potomac River and enter Maryland, take exit 39, River Road. Once you have taken this exit, turn right onto River Road and travel into Washington, D.C. Follow River Road for several miles - you'll cross Western Avenue - until you reach 46th Street. Turn Right onto 46th Street.
Follow 46th Street to Massachusetts Avenue. Turn left on Massachusetts Avenue. The Wesley campus will be a short distance up the hill, on your right.
Turn right onto the driveway. You have arrived! (If you find yourself in the Ward traffic circle, you have gone too far.) See Campus Map.
From Maryland: If you travel south from upper Maryland...
Take I-270 to I-495 toward Tysons Corner Virginia to exit 39, River Road. Or, take I-95 (and at the split take I-495/Silver Springs, not 95 South or downtown Washington, D.C.) Travel on 495 for several miles. After I-270 merges with I-495 you will take exit 39, River Road. Once you have taken this exit, turn right onto River Road following the signs for Washington D.C. Follow River Road for several miles, you'll cross over Western Avenue.Turn right on 46th Street - the road after Western Avenue.
Turn Left on to Massachusetts Avenue. You will travel a short distance up the hill with the Wesley campus on your right.
Turn right onto the driveway. You have arrived! (If you find yourself in the Ward traffic circle, you have gone too far.) See Campus Map.
When traveling on the Metro......
The closest Metro stop to Wesley is the Tenleytown station on the Red Line. Be sure to pick up a bus transfer so you will not have to pay extra for the bus. Take the N8 bus which comes to Wesley.
Also: American University has a shuttle for the AU community that arrives every 15 minutes at the metro station that you may ride to the AU campus and walk one and a half blocks down Massachusetts Avenue (West) to Wesley. See Campus Map.
