Beverly Mitchell is a member of the American Baptist Church. She has been with Wesley Theological Seminary since 1998, specializing in studies of systematic theology, church history and human rights. She has authored Black Abolitionism: A Quest For Human Dignity (Bishop Henry Mcneal Turner/Sojourner Truth Series in Black Religion), a book that explores black abolitionism and the theology of human dignity in the context of slavery and the Holocaust.
