Deborah Sokolove

Deborah Sokolove is a member of Seekers Church, a Christian Community in the Tradition of Church of the Saviour. She specializes in the intersection of liturgy, religion and the arts.  She is a Book Review Editor for ARTS, the publication of the Society for Art in Religious and Theological Studies and is currently writing an as-yet-untitled book on art and the church.

Publications:

Sokolove's 2003 dissertation was titled "Marking Time: Dressing the United Methodist Church for Worship 1982-2002".  She has been a regular contributor to Liturgical Homiletics and Homily Service, ecumenical resources for preachers, since 1997. Her essays on art, faith, and the artist's life have been published in The Art Journal, Images and Issues, Liturgy, and Faith at Work magazine.  Her artwork has been shown locally and nationally, and is represented in numerous private collections.
