To-Do List: Summer/Fall 2012 Registration
It is very important for you to read this information in detail before registering. The printed schedule in .pdf form is available on the Registration Instructions page, along with details about the upcoming Summer term, offerings at Mt. Vernon Square and other off-campus locations, and online/hybrid course opportunities.
♦ Visit your Faculty Advisor
You are strongly encouraged to meet with your faculty advisor at least once during the semester to touch base regarding the progress of your studies. You can find the name of your advisor listed on the "My Profile" page in WesleyWeb after logging in on the My Wesley page. If you are a new student, it is your responsibility to meet with your advisor during your first semester and to submit a Degree Plan Worksheet to the Registrar's Office. Students who entered in Fall 2011 or before and have not submitted a plan will be blocked from registration until this plan is submitted. Other holds may be in force due to lack of Health Insurance waiver, Immunization, Background Check, Covenant, or Academic Planning/Orientation participation. Check under the "My Holds and Warnings" link to confirm that your registration is not blocked.
♦ Check the status of your student account prior to registration
Students who have outstanding balances on their student accounts will not be allowed to pre-register for limited enrollment courses or register for other courses until their accounts are cleared. You can check the status of your account by checking the "My Holds and Warnings" page on WesleyWeb.
♦ Pre-register for Limited Enrollment courses on WesleyWeb
Pre-registration for Limited Enrollment courses begins on March 19 and ends at 1:00 PM on March 30. See specific details in the Registration Instructions. Remember that you may also register for all courses (not just Limited Enrollment courses) throughout the four-week registration period.
♦ Register for courses on WesleyWeb
All returning degree students are encouraged to complete registration activity during the four-week registration period (even if it is just to register for NC-001 Continuing Enrollment). See the Registration Instructions for specific dates and other details related to registration.
Following registration, you need to make arrangements to pay your bill for the semester and have your ID validated. Summer term courses have individual registration deadlines (usually two weeks before the course starts). After this deadline, drops will incur a $100 cancellation fee. See the Summer term page for specific deadlines. Payment is due on the first day of class. In the Fall 2012 semester, students have until the end of the add/drop period to either pay their bill in its entirety or sign up for the TuitionPay plan through Sallie Mae. Students failing to choose either of these options by the end of the add/drop period will risk financial withdrawal from all courses and withholding of semester grades.
Announcements about registration including updates to the schedule, waitlist notifications, and emails sent by professors through Blackboard will always be sent to your Wesley email address. Therefore, it is crucial that you either check your email frequently or forward your account to another address that you use. You may forward your account by selecting the "Preferences" link from your inbox and entering a preferred email address in the "Forward" field. Remember: Wesley IT staff do not have access to your email account after it has been created. If you begin using a different non-Wesley email account, it is your responsibility to change the forwarding information on the @students.wesleyseminary.edu account.
