Wesley Theological Seminary invites all alumni to nominate a fellow graduate for the 2014 Society of John Wesley Award of Merit before February 15.
Each year, Wesley Theological Seminary presents the Society of John Wesley Award of Merit to one or more individuals during the seminary’s commencement ceremony. The award recognizes alumni who, through sacrificial leadership, exemplify a high standard of commitment and devotion to God, the Church and Wesley Theological Seminary.
The deadline for nominations is February 15, 2014. The nominations form is located at www.WesleySeminary.edu/award. Any alumnus or alumna of Wesley Theological Seminary (or Westminster Seminary) who graduated at least five years prior to the nomination is eligible for this esteemed award. Recipients are nominated and selected by fellow graduates. On May 12, Wesley President David McAllister-Wilson will present the award to another stellar graduate at commencement.
“In the presentation of this award, we give thanks for these so honored that their example of uniting devotion to the cause of Christ may lift us to new heights of service,” says the Rev. Dr. Robert Martin, Wesley’s dean. “We ask our graduates to complete a nomination form today and help us celebrate those who ‘unite the pair so long disjoined—knowledge and vital piety’ as Charles Wesley wrote.”
Seated in the nation's capital and centered in Christian faith, Wesley Theological Seminary prepares students to become exemplary teachers, preachers and leaders. Wesley graduates are in ministry in all 50 states and in 20 countries. The mission of Wesley Theological Seminary is to prepare Christians for leadership in the church and the world, to advance theological scholarship, and to model a prophetic voice in the public square.
