Dr. F. Douglas Powe Jr. will give the keynote speech at the Wesleyan Leadership Conference October 17-19, 2013 at General Board of Discipleship in Nashville, Tenn.
Wesley’s students have moved into the seminary’s new residence hall. This newly completed place of spiritual formation provided welcome for new residents of the 76-bed facility the third week of August. The seminary carefully planned this new facility to foster community and spiritual growth.
Ten years ago this summer, Wesley launched the Lewis Center for Church Leadership based on the belief that effective leadership is essential to fruitful congregations. Our vision was for a center that would become a trusted resource for church leadership ideas, research, resources, and training so that congregational and denominational service, vitality and growth increased.
Mike McCurry and Kristopher Norris will serve as interim co-directors of Wesley Theological Seminary’s National Capital Semester for Seminarians for 2014-16.

On Monday, July 15, Dr. Shaun Casey, Wesley Theological Seminary’s professor of Christian ethics, began his new duties as the special advisor to the Secretary of State for faith-based community initiatives. Casey remains an important member of Wesley’s faculty and will return to his regular position at the conclusion of this assignment.
