Residence Hall Floor Plans

Double or Single Straughn Dormitory Rooms

Straughn Dormitory has fifty-three dormitory rooms, most of which have the following floor plan.

Straughn Dormitory offers single or double occupancy dormitory rooms. Please note that the floor plan for these rooms is identical and the only distinction between the two is the number of occupants assigned to a room.  Students assigned to live in a single occupancy dormitory room will have the same furniture as provided in a double occupancy dormitory room, and we are unable to store unwanted furniture.  Please also note that furniture may not be removed from the unit.

Installed furniture (cannot be rearranged or moved) in the room include the wardrobes, chests of drawers, and bookshelves (measuring 44" by 26", containing three shelves), which are located above either student desk but are not depicted in the floor plan below.  Beds, night table, arm chair and desks can all be rearranged. Students frequently like to supplement their dormitory furniture with a miniature refrigerator, and not depicted but included in the room is an air conditioner unit which connects to a portal underneath the window.
